In the framework of supporting entrepreneurship and enhancing institutional partnerships, the director of the business incubator, Pr. Kawther ElKOURD, welcomed the general director of ISGP and its administrative team. They were given a brief tour of the incubator’s headquarters.
During the visit, Mrs. YOUYOU Zineb delivered a motivational speech to the entrepreneurs, encouraging them to work hard and persevere to achieve their entrepreneurial goals. She emphasized the importance of support and guidance on their journey.

After the establishment of the Technical Committee of the University of Algiers 1 on January 29, 2025, in implementation of Ministerial Decision 146, the committee conducted workshops on February 4-6, 2025, with project owners to assist them and address the challenges they face.
Under the patronage of the Director of the University of Algiers 1 and under the supervision of the Director of the University’s Business Incubator, in collaboration with the House of Artificial Intelligence, we present the event ‘Artificial Intelligence in the Service of Journalism,’ which will take place on February 26, 2025, at the National House of Artificial Intelligence.

The first edition of the National University Mobile Journalism Competition at the University of Algiers 3:
The competition witnessed significant participation, with 19 University institutions (academic and service- oriented) registering a total of 29 projects.

Today, December 1, 2024, the National AI House hosted an event titled “Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Various Professions.” The event began with a welcome speech by Pr. Mokhtari Fares, Rector of the University of Algiers 1, followed by remarks from Pr. Kawthar Kourd, head of the incubator managing the National AI House. Representatives from supporting economic companies also spoke, highlighting academic-industry collaboration.
The morning session featured a lecture by Dr. Riad Baghdadi on AI advancements and tools like ChatGPT, followed by Dr. Yassine Abdeljebbar’s insights into using AI for treating cardiovascular diseases. Pr. Bitam Idder, Assistant Director of Scientific Research in Djelfa, discussed research prospects in Algeria. The session concluded with a Q&A and the speakers’ recognition in a ceremony accompanied by artistic presentations.
During the break, attendees enjoyed an interactive robotics exhibition showcasing cutting-edge innovations.
The afternoon session included lectures on AI applications in agriculture by Pr. Najia Zermane, data sciences by Dr. Fouzia Ghanem, and GIS-based AI applications by Dr. Kamel Ghannem. A closing Q&A session followed, and the speakers were honored for their contributions.
The event concluded with a group photo, symbolizing its success in fostering engagement and highlighting AI’s potential to advance various professions in Algeria.

The University of Algiers 1 hosted several activities during global Entrepreneurship Week to raise awareness and emphasize the importance of entrepreneurship. The University’s director Pr. Fares Mokhtari, delivered an opening speech, followed by remarks from the director of the Business Incubator Pr. kawther El Kourd, as well as Mr. Si Mohand Mounir, director of the Entrepreneurship Development Center, Mr. Boukhalfa Yaici, general manager of the Green Energy Group, and the director of Nesda, Mrs. Hanane Bouhafs. A representative from the Youth of Algeria Foundation also gave a speech.
nesda then honored small projects’ owners by awarding them certificates after they completed 20 days of training. The event included a half-hour break during which the incubator’s jury conducted a competition among projects owners to select the top three projects. This was followed by two lectures; one by Dr. Mohamed Haddou on the economic dimensions of entrepreneurship and another by Dr. Meryam Akrour on the legal perspective of the entrepreneurship.
The event concluded with distribution of awards to the winning students and the honoring of the two lecturers. November 18, 2024.

Professor Dr. Kawthar El-Kord, Director of the Algiers 1 Incubator, and Dr. Mounir Belali, a member of the National Coordination Committee for the Central Region for Innovation and Business Incubators, were featured on the television program “University Compass” on the Knowledge Channel. In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the launch of the glorious Algerian Liberation Revolution, which began on November 1, 1954 , the Director of the Business Incubator at the University of Algiers 1, Ben Youcef Ben Khedda, along with all members of the incubator and the administrative staff, extend their warmest congratulations and best wishes. They pray to the Almighty to preserve peace and stability in our beloved Algeria.
On October 30, 2024, at the Artificial Intelligence Center, a business café event was held with the participation of the CEO of Alpha Smart. The Rector of the University of Algiers 1, Pr. Mokhtari Fares, delivered a welcoming speech emphasizing the importance of integrating the University into the path of economic development. This was followed by a speech from the CEO of Alpha Smart, who outlined the company’s mission and its commitment to supporting entrepreneurial projects.
Afterward, students who had obtained trademarks were honored as a form of encouragement and motivation to continue their innovative ventures. A group photo was taken, followed by a brief break. The event then continued with a closed session that lasted for two hours, during which expert Dr. Jerada Amer listened to project owners and provided guidance on transforming their ideas into viable economic projects. The meeting concluded at 7:00 p.m., with a future follow-up meeting scheduled.
The Business Incubator Director met with some project owners today, October 21, to assess the progress of their projects and discuss the challenges they are facing in registering for the label. The meeting also covered updates regarding the incubator, including new equipment and materials related to the projects.
On behalf of the Director of the University of Algiers 1, the director of the Business Incubator welcomed Dr. Monir, the representative of the CDE (Entrepreneurship Development Center), along with representatives from the National Entrepreneurship Support and Development Agency (NESDA) and the trainees. In the name of the university’s director, she officially announced the commencement of the training session.
Afterwards, the CDE representative delivered a welcoming speech, followed by remarks from NESDA representatives. The training program, which will last 20 days, began immediately. Wishing them all the best of luck!
The Awareness days for the Business Incubator at the University of Algiers 1, under the sponsorship of the university’s president, have been ongoing since October 6. According to Ministerial Decision No. 87, which initiated the awareness days at all university incubators, the business incubator of the Faculty of Sciences will continue its activities on the first day, 14/10/2024, featuring several events. These include online publications introducing the incubator’s work and inviting project owners to encourage their fellow students to register. Meanwhile, a group of project owners will carry out awareness-raising activities around the university. Finally, incubator members will visit classrooms of some Master’s 2 programs at the faculty to provide guidance, listen to the students, and invite them to register on the incubator’s platform via Facebook and Instagram.
The final stop of the University of Algiers 1 Business Incubator’s caravan was at the Faculty of Law today, October 9th, 2024. The caravan reached out to the students of the faculty to raise awareness about how to turn their ideas into startups or patents that contribute to building a distinguished national economy.

The Business Incubator caravan of the University of Algiers 1, Benyoucef Benkhedda, visited the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, accompanied by professors who are members of the incubator and project owners from the faculty. An event was held on May 19, 2024, to celebrate Algeria’s Student Day, marking the 1956 student strike in support of the independence movement.
On the occasion of Science Day, which falls on April 16, 2024, each year at the University of Algiers 1 – Benyoucef Benkhedda, and under the patronage of the President of the University of Algiers 1, Professor Fares Mokhtari, the commemoration of Science Day was held under the theme “Selecting the Top Three Startup Projects for the University of Algiers 1 Business Incubator.” The event was attended by Cosider Group, members of the business incubator’s judging committee, professors, students, and television channels Salam, Economique, and UFC Continuous Education Radio.
The university president delivered his opening speech, emphasizing that Science Day is an opportunity to assess achievements and work on developing skills. The head of the university’s business incubator, Professor Kawthar El Kourd, gave a welcoming speech and an overview of the event, followed by a speech from Dr. Bouchari, the head of the CATI, who explained the importance of supporting innovative projects from the start and protecting them. Next, Mr. Belhirat Mohamed, a representative of Cosider Group, delivered a speech highlighting the need to connect the university with economic institutions and collaborate to boost the national economy.
The Science Day celebration also featured a scientific lecture by Dr. Chami Wahid on “Simulation Engineering through Artificial Intelligence,” using “ChatGPT as a model.” Dr. Wahid is a professor at the National School of Artificial Intelligence, and the lecture was delivered for the benefit of the students. This was followed by a competition for the top three innovative projects from the first batch of students and four projects from the second batch, with the projects being evaluated by the judging committee after presentations that highlighted their excellence and distinction. The event concluded with the distribution of awards to the winners and a commemorative photo.
Today, on 23/2/2025, the discussion of the Master’s economic dissertation took place for students specializing in Natural Sciences. Congratulations to our students as we look forward to the creation of their startups!
